Agape Newsletter: Special Radikal to the Maxx edition!
Hello everybody, and welcome in to another Agape newsletter. Did you miss us last week? We had a broken rod in the printing press, and weren’t able to send this newsletter out to you in time. Those responsible have been sacked.
This Sunday, we have a fun filled, action packed, God-centered day, and I hope you can take part! We lead off with small groups on Sunday morning, beginning at 9:45 AM. The small group that I am part of has begun a fantastic new video series on marriage that is led by Les and Leslie Parrot. We watched the intro video last week, and it was very good. I anticipate another good video this week, and a great discussion to follow. We have many other Sunday morning small groups as well, come early and check them out!
For the message this Sunday, we are going to take a one week break from our series looking at the purposes of Agape. Instead, we are going to hear a message about the radical person of Jesus, His radical demands on our life, and the radical gospel preached by Him and His disciples. In a day and age where people are angered and turned off by any who claim to have absolute truth, how should the church communicate the message of Jesus?
Sunday night, we will actually be having two events, one at 5:00pm and one at 6:00pm. Beginning at 5:00, our teenagers are hosting a worship time called “Come Together” which will feature the worship team and teenagers from Living Word Church, as well as the drama team from Solid Rock Church, and a message from our own David McConnell. Shortly after that, at 6:00pm, all are invited to the beginning of Genesis, a new small group that will be meeting at the parsonage. Genesis is a group for anybody who would like to be more involved in evangelism and discipleship at Agape, or who is a current small group leader, or wants to be a small group leader.
Finally, please continue to pray for Leeroy Turner. I visited with Leeroy today, and he is still in a lot of pain from surgery on both knees. Also pray for John McNamee, father of Lori and husband of Ginger, who is in the ICU at UAB hospital with serious issues affecting his blood.
That’s all for now - See you Sunday!
